Pilates and Gyrokinesis are my methods of exploring the body’s potential for optimal mobility and strength. First connecting the breath and the mind to the body, and then utilizes movement dynamics to challenge the body to experience new pathways of physical range.
I have been trained to use Pilates to alleviate joint tension and pain, improve alignment, strength, mobility, flexibility, and balance. I can teach you to better understand how to utilize the core to improve physical performance in dance, gymnastics, cardiovascular forms of exercise, or subtle movement in everyday life.
In 2018, my claim read: “Working with me, you will discover how to improve your posture, challenge your balance, and break a sweat. I will teach you to turnout, walk, run, cycle, lift heavy objects, etc, using your abdominals, protecting the spine and alleviating discomfort in the body. Pilates can be used to completely change the function and shape of your body.”
Gyrokinesis, Progressing Ballet Technique, Carolyn Dorfman Technique, and many more movement philosophies have evolved my ideals. I focus on using these ideas to find suppleness with strength. I enjoy training to give the body something to respond to in order to grow stronger, while also exploring new places to focus in the mind to allow for new sensations in the body.
